Membership Levels

There are 4 types of membership: Basic, Associate, Certified, and Honorary Society Life Time Member
Level I - Basic Membership: Placement on our mailing list for information and association updates. Recognition as a AAODLC.Org Dental Expert Legal Consultant in your state by listing of your name, location, and expertise, on our website.
Requirements: Complete registration information below, Member fee of $45/year (or pro-rated $5/month until the January 1st Renewal period). Total fee must be prepaid upon request after acceptance of your application. Membership fee maybe waived for 2 years with submission of a AAODLC Journal Article or Research Paper for publication.
Level II - Associate Membership: Website Password Privileges. Benefits of access to our Blog (A message board for active discussion and debate among members), Reference information not visible to the general public, Access to complete copies of The Dental Expert Witness: A Journal of the American Association of Dental Legal Consultants, Privileges to be listed with CV download on our website as a practicing Dental Legal Consultant for potential clients in your State/Province.
Requirements: 1) Complete online application below, provide CV/Resume, 2) Member fee of $125/year (or pro-rated $12/month until the January 1st Renewal period). Member fee maybe waived for 2 years with submission of a AAODLC Journal Article or Research Paper for publication.
Level III - Certified Member ? (Certificate Program is on hold at this time pending board review. Membership Levels III and IV will be established by other qualifications until then.)
Includes benefits of Associate Membership, plus allows you to be listed as a Certified Dental Legal Consultant, for potential clients in your State/Province. Membership level includes Formal Certificate. The certificate can be mounted on a Plaque for an additional $185 fee.
Requirements: 1) Must be an Associate Member or above, 2) Must complete certified course work requirements, 3) Must take AAODLC.Org Certification Exam, 4) Provide CV/Resume and list of cases that you worked on for the last 4 years, 5) Sign the AAODLC.Org Code of Conduct, 6) Publish one article or research paper in the The Dental Expert Witness. 7) Maintain a membership fee of $85/per year.
Member fee will be waived for 2 years with submission of a AAODLC Journal Article or Research Paper. Member fee of $85/year (or pro-rated $9/month until the January 1st Renewal period) will be charged upon expiration of Journal credit. Submitting new articles or Research papers will extend your membership fee credit.
Steps for the AAODLC.Org Dental Legal Consultant Certification (Pending Board Review-Subject to Change):
- Take the required 30 hours of course work (24 upper division credits, and 6 lower or upper division credits) from a recognized AAODLC.Org educational provider.
- Publish at least one article, or Scientific Research Paper in The Dental Expert Witness.
- Submit a Testing and Review fee of $285. Complete the Dental Legal Consultant Examination with a passing score of at least 85%, or 90% if retake.
- Provide CV and documentation that supports Graduation from a professional or academic degree (PhD, M.A., M.S., D.D.S., R.D.H.), or Post graduate (Fellowships) education in the Dental Field, or related field with certification in Forensics.
- Sign and accept the AAODLC.Org Rules of Conduct and Code of Honor.
Level IV - Honorary Society (Life Time) Membership - This membership level is for exceptional member who have contributed greatly to society, education, or science. Benefits provided are the same as a Certified Member, but with lifetime membership for free.
Requirements: Must be recognized as a leader in his/her field, and demonstrated as such by at least two nominations from other members. Applicant should have publicly available copies of articles, published research papers, or literature which fosters or demonstrates the goals and mission of the AAODLC.
Honorary Members are eligible for Recognition Awards in their field of expertise, and for the AAODLC.Org Commendation Award which will be presented every 5 years as selected by fellow members.
