Mission Statement
AAODLC.org is a Private Association formed for the sole purpose of supporting Dental Professionals, Lawyers, and Educators in their pursuit of becoming proficient Dental Legal Consultants, and Expert Witnesses in the field of Dentistry or Dental Forensics.
Although Basic Membership is open to all who may apply, Associate Membership and above is limited to careful screening. Final approval for higher levels of membership is by Board nomination and invitation only; based upon applicant experience or qualifications. Selection for Associate Membership and above is made from our list of basic member applicants on file.
Our Goals Are…
1. To Establish a standard for Quality and Professionalism as Dental Expert Consultants and Expert Witnesses.
2. To achieve our mission by encouraging communication between members, and encouraging research to verify assumed “Standards of Care.”
3. To educate members to raise the Standard of Dental Expert Consulting and Witnessing,
4. To discourage the use of unqualified Dental Legal Consultants as “Hired Guns,” but rather encourage those who believe in our mission.
5. And lastly, to promote professionalism among Consultants and Dentists with a vested interest in analyzing and presenting the facts of a case in fairness to all.
Organization: The charter of the American Association of Dental Legal Consultants is accepted as a non-profit organization; incorporated in the State of New York. The official registered name is the acronym “AAODLC.org, inc.” www.AAODLC.Org serves as our website address.
The AAODLC.org Board of Directors is composed of a minimum 3 to maximum 5 members. There is a minimum board requirement of 2/3rds in the field of Dental Legal Consulting, and at least one Public Advocate Representative.
The Crest Insignia of AAODLC.org Stands for: 1. Quality of Patient Care: In support of Dentistry and their patients by objective, fair and honest peer review. 2. Education & Research: To verify Standards of Care as confirmed by Evidence Based Information, and to properly disseminate this information by teaching others. 3. Professionalism: To carryout one’s services with Truth, Honesty, and Honor.
